  17. I have a Teleport Platinum connected to a Powermac 7500.  
  18.  
  19. Problem:  Upon booting up, I am able to dialin (via MacSlip) and use any 
  20. of my network applications (Eudora, Netscape, etc.) with no problem.  If 
  21. I disconnect my slip connection and try to redial again, here is what 
  22. happens:
  23.     1.  I can't dialin.  The macslip trace window tells me it is  
  24.      initializing the modem, but can't seem to find the modem. 
  25.  2.  If the modem does dialin successfully, my applications can't seem 
  26.         to find the necessary tcp/ip information it needs to identify my
  27.         machine.  i.e.; When netscape is opened, I get the error "can't
  28.         the DNS entry", however that is worded.  My Eudora program can't
  29.            seem to find the mail server so I get various Eudora mail errors.

  31. Things I've tried:

  33.  1.  I tried turning off the modem itself, after having a successful 
  34.         dialin.  That didn't work.
  35.  2.  I tried rebooting the mac, first w/out turning off the modem.  That
  36.      didn't work.
  37.  3.  The only thing that seems to work about 98% of the time is to 
  38.         completely shut down everything (modem and mac), then reconnect.  
  39.  
  40. I should be able to connect/disconnect and then reconnect at anytime 
  41. w/out shutting down everything.  Can someone please give me a clue on 
  42. what the problem may be?

  44. BTW, Global Village tech support had no clue as to what the problem may 
  45. be.  I also have all the current versions to the powermac system 
  46. software.  The AT commands I'm using is &F1 (which sets factory 
  47. defaults) and &D0.
